The strongest messenger to a union member is often another union member they already know and trust.
That is the idea behind Empower Project’s work with the National Education Association. Using the Empower App, educators and union members can organize through their existing relationships—connecting coworkers, friends, and family to the issues affecting their schools, workplaces, and communities.
Rather than relying only on mass emails, advertising, or traditional campaign outreach, Empower gives members a tool to bring organizing back to the relationship level. Members can share information, start conversations, recruit others into action, and amplify authentic stories about why their union matters.
The result is a distributed network of trusted messengers who can help their union reach people traditional communications often miss—and build lasting power beyond a single election or campaign.
