Fundraising Operations Associate (He/Him/They)
I grew up on the U.S. Mexico border, where community and service have always been at the heart of my life. I started my professional journey a little later than most, after spending over a decade in the hospitality industry. I got my first job at 15, washing dishes in a local bakery, and worked my way up through nearly every role front and back of house eventually becoming a Manager at a world-class golf resort. That experience taught me what it means to serve people with care, urgency, and attention to detail.
My path shifted when I became an intern in Congressman Beto O’Rourke’s office. There, I learned how to support constituents through casework and realized that the skills I’d developed in hospitality: listening, problem-solving, and showing up were just as valuable in public service.
Since then, I’ve spent the past eleven years organizing for campaigns and nonprofits from local precinct races to presidential efforts. I started as a canvasser and eventually worked my way into consulting/managing, supporting work around voter engagement, education, and food reclamation. Through that work, I saw a clear gap: many organizers along the border didn’t have access to the digital tools and strategies that could make their work more sustainable and impactful.
That insight pushed me to transition into tech. I’ve been building the skills and knowledge I need to help bridge that gap so organizers and communities can better harness technology to build power, tell their stories, and create lasting change.
This work, for me, is always personal. I’m here to serve, to support, and to help others succeed whether that’s through conversation, on the doors, or behind the scenes of a campaign strategy session.
