Rodolfo Parra Jr.
SPECIAL PROJECTS MANAGER
Rodolfo grew up on the Border of the United States and Mexico. Growing up, his life was positively impacted by the work of local nonprofits and faith organizations that served his neighborhood; these experiences helped fuel his passion for working toward social good. Currently, he works on the Development team with Empower Project, where he supports fundraising. He began his professional journey in politics working in the office of Texas Congressman Beto O’Rourke, handling casework. From there, he went on to organize for nonprofits and a variety of campaigns from local precinct races to presidential campaigns. He also brings a wealth of experience volunteering with Americorp VISTA, working at United Way, and serving twice on City Advisory Councils. He also ran for office and won a Precinct Chair election and served from 2016 to 2018. Through these experiences, he saw first-hand the huge gap between organizers and access to technology which influenced his transition to a focus in tech to learn skills that would benefit the community. Outside of work, he likes to volunteer for local candidates and a local migrant shelter. When he’s not working, he enjoys watching anime, playing SIM racing, and riding motorcycles.
