Mayte Aldrett
REGIONAL PARTNER SUCCESS DIRECTOR, SOUTHERN REGION
Mayte is an accomplished organizer and experienced trainer. At Empower Project, she recruits new partners to implement successful relational organizing programs, nurtures partnerships, and offers personalized assistance to organizations. She earned her Bachelors in Environmental Studies from Carleton College where she had the opportunity to work with a research team in Ethiopia distributing clean burning stoves. Then, she worked at an immigrant workers’ center as an Economic Justice Organizer in East Chicago where she trained women leaders on workers’ rights, the possibilities under a solidarity economy, and how to become a worker-owner within a workers cooperative. She also helped develop a food distribution program that helped feed over 50 families in a community experiencing food insecurity as a result of lost wages during the pandemic, which resulted in 1,000 meals delivered every week. Mayte is skilled in delivering training to diverse audiences and is an expert on the Empower App. When she’s not working, she plays on a soccer team with her mom twice a week.
