Florida Conservation Voters (FCV) engages people in our democracy and elects lawmakers to protect our environment and healthy communities for everyone. We connect Floridians to their political power by mobilizing people, winning elections, holding elected officials accountable, and advancing responsible public policies.

FCV envisions a government that reflects the people it serves and lawmakers who vigorously fight for policies that protect our environment and create a healthy, sustainable future for all Floridians.

They pushed the needle throughout this past cycle, using Relational to grow their networks and their power.

They found an added benefit to their RO program: their Relational Organizing workshops became relational engagement tools in their own right. They became times for the community to come together, and strategize. And commiserate. And celebrate. All while tapping into their own power and improving their community in the process.

And really, that’s what Relational Organizing is all about.

“We found that sharing our vote-by-mail message with our network was just as important as sharing it with strangers,” said Digital Organizer Savana Roach. “Volunteers were not only passionate about the message, but were also excited to learn about Relational Organizing.”

Traditional organizing is great and it has its role. But Relational provides a toolkit that lets you take those conversations deeper and build towards more lasting change.

Moving forward, Florida Conservation Voters will continue to invest in community-centered peer-to-peer organizing and host more “Empower Banks,” and continuing to use Relational to look both outward and inward.

Congratulations to FCV for running a stellar RO program in 2020. Can’t wait to see what you do moving forward!
